A specialist institution
Intellectual property, engineering and technology disputes rarely present legal questions alone. They may require claim construction, design and performance evidence, technical analysis, valuation, licensing experience and an understanding of the parties’ continuing business relationship.
The Centre’s panellists are drawn exclusively from retired judges, bringing judicial independence, adjudicatory experience and disciplined case management to mediation, arbitration and other dispute-settlement procedures.
Choosing a procedure
Consensual
The parties retain control of the outcome. Any resolution is recorded in a written settlement agreement.
Evaluative
An independent specialist provides a non-binding assessment to narrow issues and inform negotiation or case strategy.
Determinative
The parties confer authority by agreement upon an arbitral tribunal to issue a final and binding award.
